Dignified Transfer

July 22 holds two important memories for me. On one hand, it happens to be my wife’s birthday. This post is not about that however. On the same day in 2012, I lost three of my comrades and team-mates as a result of a “green on blue” incident when a rogue Afghan police officer (who was apparently a Taliban member) decided to deliberately turn his weapon on the team in Herat. Bunny Kisses

We had the pleasure of getting a visit recently by our new granddaughter who lives half a country away. Everyone was happy to see her, including Bunny the dachshund. This image probably does a better job at catching Bunny licking milk off of the baby’s face than it actually demonstrates true affection, but I am going to stick to my belief that Bunny was as thrilled to see Jordin as her grandparents were!

Bunny the Dachshund

Meet Bunny, our seven year old black and red dachshund. Bunny is a total goofball. Totally needy, completely lovable, and extremely territorial as the leader of the Green Weenie Pack (our herd of dachshunds). A while back, Bunny was reluctantly assisting me in the studio. The local party store was going out of business, so I happened to pick up a bunch of silly props that just happened to fit her just nicely. No dachshunds were harmed in the making of this photo, unless you count the added weight put on as a result of the numerous food bribes required to gain their cooperation in front of the camera.

Here We Go Again

An overhaul of this website has been long overdue, so I lit a match, tossed over it my shoulder, and walked away from the piles of clutter that possessed the old site. I will be working on a new layout, with links to various images from a collection over 35 years in the making that numbers nearly half a million photographs. I will be scouring through the archives to find those 10 or 12 good images, and will be adding new work as I complete a bunch of projects I have been planning to get to lately. Thanks for checking in; hope you brought the marshmallows!
